Ondeliv-4
Ondeliv-4/8 Oral Films (Ondansetron 4 mg/8 mg): Ondansetron is a serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist primarily used as an antiemetic (to treat nausea and vomiting), often following chemotherapy. Its effects are thought to affect both peripheral and central nerves. Ondansetron reduces vagus nerve activity, which deactivates the vomiting center in the medulla oblongata, and also blocks serotonin receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone. It has little effect on vomiting caused by motion sickness and no effect on dopamine or muscarinic receptors. The soluble oral film is designed to be applied to the top of the tongue, where it will dissolve in 4 to 5 seconds and then swallowed with saliva.
ONDELIV is indicated for the prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with initial and repeated cycles of moderately emetogenic cancer chemotherapy.
Ondansetron is an antiemetic used to prevent vomiting and nausea after chemotherapy or surgery. It blocks the action of serotonin receptors, which causes nausea.
Benefits of ondansetron orally disintegrating strips:
It is recommended that children over 4 years of age, pregnant women, and patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or surgery consume ondansetron orally disintegrating strips to treat or prevent nausea and vomiting.
When the level of the hormone serotonin in the blood increases, it stimulates the CTZ receptors located in the brain, causing vomiting and nausea, so the patient feels uncomfortable.
Manufacturers of Dispersible Gold film in Mumbai have provided disintegrating strips that inhibit the release of this hormone. Ondansetron also reduces the effects of comorbid depression and anxiety caused by obesity.
How do ondansetron orally disintegrating strips work?
It does not require water, swallowing, or chewing. It hinders and slows down the action of serotonin in the body. Ondansetron binds to the 5-HT₃ receptor and prevents vomiting and nausea.
